Resumen:

En este trabajo se abordan dos problemas fundamentales que han vertebrado buena parte de la historia de la filosofía: por un lado, las estrategias de inteligibilidad ante lo desconocido e ingobernable; y, por otro lado, el problema de la donación de sentido. Ambos temas se abordan a partir de los análisis de Max Weber sobre la racionalidad moderna. La apuesta metodológica será la del propio Weber: los tipos ideales. Se procederá estableciendo parámetros y criterios en (y partir de) su obra que no tienen por qué darse en la realidad como tales, pero que servirán para tratar la problemática que aquí se plantea.

Abstract:

In this paper we address two fundamental problems running through the history of philosophy: the strategies regarding the intelligibility of the unknown and ungovernable, and the problem of giving meaning. We approach these two issues using Max Weber’s analysis of modern rationality. Our methodological approach will be Weber’s own, based on his ideal types. We will proceed by setting parameters and criteria in (and from) his work that may not reflect reality as such, but will serve to address the problems that concern us here.
